King opens Agriculture Shows in Niuas [1]

King Tupou VI opened the Royal Agriculture, Fisheries and Tonga-Made Show in Niuatoputapu on Wednesday, July 18.
The small population showcased abundant food crops, seafood, fish and fine woven handicrafts at Matangimalie grounds.
The King then travelled and opened the Niuafo’ou show at Latufuipeka grounds today, Thursday, July 19.
Next up is ‘Eua on July 25 before it concludes in Tongatapu on July 28.
Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Forests and Fisheries, the annual event is to encourage and promote the development of the agriculture and fisheries sector, working together with farmers and fishermen for food sustainability, livestock farming, handicraft makers and local food production.
