Princess Taone passes away in Auckland [1]

Princess Lavinia-Mata-‘o Taone (66) a first cousin of King Tupou VI passed away last week in Auckland, where she had lived for many years.
The Palace Office in Nuku’alofa today confirmed her passing but no other details have been released.
Princess Taone was the fourth of six children of the late Prince Tu’ipelehake and late Princess Melenaite Tuku’aho.
As one of the ten grandchildren of the late Queen Salote Tupou III, Princess Taone returned to Tonga periodically to play a traditional role during major events at the Palace.
During Princess Taone's marriage to Lord Ma’afu Tukui'aulahi they had two children, a son Hon Tevita ‘Unga Ma'afu, and a daughter Hon Fangaake Veikune. She is survived by her grandchildren.
