Touch Rugby holds ANZAC Day Tournament [1]

A one day Touch Rugby Tournament for Men’s and Women’s open teams, was held to commemorate ANZAC Day last week on the public holiday, 25 April.
It brought together 12 Men’s teams and four Women’s teams to compete on the day, out of the 16 Men’s and eight Women’s teams that registered.
The tournament was organized by the Tonga National Touch Association, and attended by the Patron of Touch Rugby, Hon. Halaevalu Moheofo Aleamotu'a; President of Women's Rugby, Hon Fanetupouvava'u Tu'ivakano; and the guest of honour, a major sponsor, the New Zealand High Commissioner to Tonga, HE Ms Tiffany Babington.
Three main prizes were given to the top three teams in each division which included 1st prize $1000; 2nd prize $500; and 3rd prize $300.
In the Women’s Division, Fasi Moe Afi Women’s won first prize, Hihifo second prize, and Masilamea third prize.
In the Men’s Division, Nukunuku won first prize, Fuekafa (Teekiu) second prize, and Toloa Old Boys third prize.
The Touch Association is looking to start a social touch game every Wednesday from 4:30pm to 6pm for members of the public who are interested to live a healthy lifestyle. More details will be posted on their facebook page.
