Tonga Development Bank donated $3,000 pa’anga  to the Alonga and Petesaita Adult Disabled Centre, to mark the bank's 40^th anniversary.

TDB CEO Leta Kami handed the cheque to Lavinia Satini, the centre’s coordinator, at Pea.

"We are proud to have achieved this biblical milestone of its 40th anniversary," she said.

“We hope that our charity is a blessing to Alonga to advance their health care, education, sports, livelihood and income generation activities.”

Oldest bank

Leta said that the TDB is the oldest bank in Tonga. During the past five-years it has introduced telegraphic transfers, online banking, the Ave Pa’anga Pau voucher remittance product and other new services.

Lavinia thanked the bank, board and staff for the generous donation. "We are blessed to have received this donation through the works that you do and we are thankful."

TDB was founded by the late King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV, as a development finance institution to be a catalyst for investment in the private sector and provide means for mobilizing resources and skills.
