The All Blacks have enlisted three rugby players of Tongan heritage for their test match against Wales next week on June 11. The players are Malakai Fekitoa (Otago Highlanders), ‘Ofa Tu’ungafasi (Auckland Blues) and George Moala (Auckland Blues).
Tongan born ‘Ofa Tu’ungafasi is a new addition to the All Blacks. The 24 year-old is the son of Mofuike Tu’ungafasi, an ‘Ikale Tahi player in the 1987 Rugby World Cup. He plays prop for the Auckland Blues.
Malakai Fekitoa (24) has 13 caps for the All Blacks. Born in Ha’apai, Malakai studied at Tonga College before moving to New Zealand on a Rugby Scholarship. He plays centre for the Otago Highlanders.
George Moala (25) has been called as a replacement for injured All Blacks centre Charlie Ngatai. He played for the Tonga Under-20s in 2010 and made his debut for the All Blacks last year.
