Tonga’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams, were both defeated in the semi-finals of the 2016 Oceania Volleyball Championships in Fiji.

Tonga’s men’s team lost to Fiji in the Semi Finals by 3 sets to 0. In the pool stages, Tonga defeated the Solomon Islands by 3 sets to 1 and Kiribati by 3 sets to 0.

In the women’s competition, Tonga defeated both Samoa B and the Solomon Islands B in the pool stages. However, the girls failed to repeat their winning habits, losing to Samoa B by 3 sets to 2 in the Semi-finals.

In the grand finals of the competition, the Fiji men’s team defeated New Caledonia by 3 sets to 2 to win the 2016 Oceania Volleyball Championship in Suva, Fiji.

In the Women’s Grand Final, Fiji again defeated New Caledonia by 3 sets to 2.
