Squad named for Hong Kong Sevens [1]

The Tongan Rugby Union has announced a team list of 12 local players to represent Tonga at the Hong Kong Sevens tournament this Friday April 8. All members of the team were selected from the recent Kolomotu’a Sevens competition, a competition that was won by Toloa Old Boys. 

The national team will participate in the core status qualifying competition of the tournament. This competition features 12 non-core teams with the overall winner being granted a core status for the next HSBC World Series (2016 – 2017). Core status means a team is invited to participate in every tournament of the HSBC World Series. Tonga’s pool opponents are Morocco, Brazil and Japan.
