New classrooms for Angaha Primary [1]

A new classroom building for Angaha Government Primary School in ‘Eua renovated by the Government of Japan, was commissioned on 12 February.
Funded with $176,038 pa’anga, the project included the upgrade of the building to house 338 students and 13 teachers as well as two 10,000 litre water tanks and toilet block.
The Japanese Ambassador HE Mr Yukio Numata said this project financed through Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects aimed to ensure that children have the necessary space to learn and enjoy their education.
“Education is a significant tool for empowering people and developing resilient communities and in order to achieve, children need to be educated in a safe and healthy environment, which is the target of this project," he said.
The Minister for Revenue and Customs and People’s Representative to ‘Eua, Hon. Tevita Lavemaau thanked the people of Japan for their generous and significant assistance, at the event.
