Clare Hargrave presents Lennie Niit with a black belt that beloonged to her late husband who helped develop Judo in the South Pacific. Nuku‘alofa. November 1998

The holder of a high ranking black belt in Judo, Mrs Clare Hargrave from New Zealand came to Tonga in November toattend the opeing of the Nuku‘alof Judo and Self Defence Club.

She presented Lennie Niit with a black belt that belonged to her late husband, a New Zealander, who helped to develop Judo in the South Pacific and around the world.

Prince ‘Ulukalala Lavaka ‘Ata opened the new Dojo at a former Commodities Board warehouse at Haveluloto. He presented grade certificates to beginners, a Blue belt to Mekivila Taani Faka‘osi and a 1st Dan Black Belt to Lennie Niit.
