Catering Professionals Tonga, describing themselves as a multi-food catering service, was officially opened for business by Lord Vaea in the Nuku’alofa CBD on Wednesday evening, 18 November.
The catering service occupies the new one storey Vikilani House at the corner of Hala Taufa’ahau and Hala Laifone, next to Hotel Nuku’alofa.
Tania Tupou, a spokesperson for the new business, said that on the ground floor are the 24-hours Victor’s Café and Victor’s Takeaway. There is also a butcher's shop, which will be opened for business during normal business hours.
The La’Quinda Restaurant on the top floor will be opened daily for lunch and dinner, and offers a catering service for functions.
The restaurant which can seat more than one hundred people, was full last night for a grand buffet dinner hosted by the owners after the opening. Tania said they can cater for events such as weddings and birthdays at La'Quinda.
The Catering Professionals Tonga is an extension of an established catering service in Auckland, New Zealand that is owned and managed by Kelemete ‘Ahio, who is originally from the village of Houma, Tongatapu.
