Seven schools join Brass Band Festival [1]

Three-days of brass band competitions started today 22 July, for the 2015 Inter-College Brass Band Music Festival at the Police Headquarters in Longolongo.
With a theme “Music is our common language for peace” the festival aims to bring together schools and encourage musical engagement.
Seven schools participating include Tonga College, Tupou College, Queen Salote College, Tupou High School, ‘Apifo’ou College, Tailulu College and St Andrew's High School.
In a solo performance category this morning, 26 students were judged by conductors Howard Taylor from Australia and Riki McDonnell from New Zealand.
The brass band competition continues at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall and will conclude with the finals and a march through Central Nuku’alofa on Friday, 24 July.
The Tonga Police Band and the combined Tonga Secondary Schools have organized the event.
