Coronation celebrations start June 27 [1]

The investiture of HM King Tupou VI as the 24th Tu‘i Kanokupolu will be held at a Royal Kava ceremony, the Taumafa Kava, on Saturday 27 June at the Mala‘e Pangai Lahi in Nuku'alofa.
The traditional ceremony will be followed by eight days of Coronation celebrations.
A Coronation Service and ceremony will be held a week later on Saturday July 4 at 10:00am at the Centenary Church.
Other events in the official programme released yesterday, include a Coronation Military Parade, Military Tattoo, Education Day and traditional tupakapakanava (torch lighting ceremony) and fireworks.
The Prime Minister Hon ‘Akilisi Pohiva announced the Coronation programme of events on Monday, 27 April.
