Tupou High School gets upgrade [1]

All classrooms at Tupou High School’s Nukunuku Campus have been renovated with over $100,000 pa’anga grant assistance by the Government of Japan.
The Japanese Ambassador HE Dr Kazuchika Hamuro today commissioned the completed project at the Free Wesleyan Church school compound.
The works included renovation of Form 1-5 classrooms, renovation of window frames and the floor of a multi-purpose hall, staff room, construction of a new toilet building and installation of a 10000-litre water tank.
Dr Hamuro said education is one of the focus areas of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
“Education is a significant tool for sustainable development by empowering people and developing resilient communities. This project is part of the Embassy of Japan’s policy to overcome vulnerabilities and promote human security for the people of Tonga,” he said.
Attending the ceremony was Rev Dr Mele’ana Puloka, Dr ‘Ana Koloto, PTA members, teachers and students.
