Scotland has redeemed its 2012 loss with a big victory over the ‘Ikale Tahi on Saturday November 22 in Kilmarnock, Scotland.

The first-half was closely contested, Scotland leading 14 – 12 with two converted tries, while all of Tonga’s twelve points came from four converted penalties by Fly-half, Latiume Fosita. Scotland scored three more unanswered tries in the second half along with two converted penalties to win 37 – 12.

The game was the Ikale Tahi’s final fixture of 2014. Despite the big loss against Scotland, the ‘Ikale Tahi tour of Europe has been largely successful with two big wins over Georgia (23 – 9) and the United States (40 -12).

In the IRB World Ranking Tonga has moved up from 13 to 12. Samoa is 11, Tonga 12 and Fiji 13. The New Zealand All Black is the world Champion at No. 1. The South African Springboks is in second place, Ireland in third, Australia fourth and England in fifth place.

Tonga’s pool opponents for next year have already been named. Tonga will play the All Blacks (again), Argentina, Georgia and Namibia.
