Pasuka Mapakaitolo arrested in alleged assault [1]

Pasuka Mapakaitolo of the Kobe Kobelco Steelers, Japan's Top League Rugby Union team, was arrested Monday for allegedly injuring a woman he lives with, according to Japanese media reports, attributed to the Hyogo prefectural police.

JapanBall's Kyodo sports news summary reported that the 30-year-old woman is feared to have suffered a broken rib after being hit in the face and the chest at their home in the early afternoon, the police said, adding that Mapakaitolo (34) had admitted to hitting the woman. No further details were available.

The 6ft 2in Tongan, Mapakaitolo, is a Loose Forward / no. 8 for the team that is owned by Kobe Steel Ltd.

He was a member of the 'Ikale Tahi team in the Pacific Nations Cup 2014 in June, and has also represented Tonga in sevens in the past.
