Princess Fuispala passes away [1]

Princess 'Elisiva Fusipala Tauki'onetuku Tuku'aho Vaha'i (65) passed away this morning in San Francisco after a long illness.

Her daughter Tauki'onetuku confirmed that the Princess had died at 9:00am October 2 (San Francisco time). It is understood she was receiving treatment at the Mills-Peninsula Medical Center, Burlingame, CA. The Princess had lived in the United States for about 12 years.

A first cousin of King Tupou VI, Princess Fusipala was married to the late Hahano 'i Mala'e Kula 'a Ngu Vaha'i. She is survived by their four children Fatafehi Nikotimasi Vaha'i (Noble Vaha'i), Siosifa 'Alematea Vaha'i, 'Elisiva Tauki'onetuku Vaha'i Vete, and 'Ofeina 'ehe Langi Leanahola Vaha'i; and six grandchildren.

The family said they intend to hold the funeral in Tonga next week but had yet to confirm the funeral arrangements.
