Young tennis squad off to American Samoa and Fiji [1]

Tonga Tennis team, 14 August

The Tonga Tennis Association is sending a team of eleven local junior players on a tour of American Samoa and Fiji.

The squad consists of five girls and six boys between the ages 10 – 16. The selections were made from the recent National Junior Tennis Trials during the Heilala week.

Sponsors for the tour included the Tonga Government, the International Tennis Federation, Westpac Bank, MBF Tonga and the Japanese Embassy.

The Tennis team are: Sarah Heleta, Mele Kaitu’u, Samuela Afemui, Tuapasi Afemui, Motuliki Kailahi, Jessica Likiliki, Skylawn Palelei, Sigi Palelei, Kauhe’a Taumoepeau and Milton Tu’ifua.

Coach: Nito Hausia, Saia Pauta.
