Assistant Manager Relationship - Commercial Banking

About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting the two Relationship Managers in managing and growing their customer portfolios. The role requires strong discipline in respect to the well managed agenda, ability to understand and follow process requirements, detailed knowledge of customer operations and the local business environment and strong collaboration with stakeholders (especially Research & Analysis) to ensure service delivery to customers. This role is responsible for providing support for relationship bankers through the completion of key business activities. They are primarily responsible for supporting Relationship Bankers in growing new and existing customer revenue by conducting financial analysis and credit strategy recommendations for designated customer groups.

What will your day look like?

As an Assistant Manager Relationship, Commercial Banking, you will have the opportunities to: -

  • Support our Relationship Managers in making banking easier for customers, providing customer solutions, and insights;
  • Conduct financial analysis and develop and implement appropriate customer strategies;
  • Establish and maintain a professional profile in the market and maintain an understanding of the customer’s industry and associated markets;
  • Work collaboratively with other internal work functions and stakeholders; and
  • Demonstrate living the ANZ Values with customers and colleagues.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: -

  • Great financial literacy, analytical skills, commercial and business acumen;
  • Strong analytical ability to assess and interpret implications of financial trends;
  • Prior experience in developing strong relationships in a customer delivery/ customer experience role;
  • Sound understanding of the structuring of security arrangements;
  • Experience in the banking industry is an advantage, but not a requirement; and
  • Preferably possesses an accounting or finance degree or equivalent, though not a strict requirement.
