TOML COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME

Call for applications

Tonga Offshore Mining Limited (TOML), a Tongan subsidiary of DeepGreen Metals Inc, is producing the base metals essential for the clean energy transition from polymetallic rocks, which sit on the seafloor thousands of kilometres from Tonga in international waters, and can be produced with lower environmental and social costs compared to traditional land-based ores. TOML is sponsored by the Kingdom of Tonga to explore for polymetallic rocks in international waters.

In what has been a challenging year, TOML will establish a new Community Assistance Program to increase its direct support for local communities. If you have a project that you are passionate about that will help the community, TOML encourages you to submit your project proposal.

All initiatives are encouraged and will be considered but priority areas of interest include: ocean health; empowering women; youth programs; sanitation and health; education; and agriculture. Successful applicants will need to provide an overview of their project, its benefit to the community, and how it aligns with TOML’s areas of interest. A work plan and budget will also be required.
