NEW ZEALAND SHORT-TERM TRAINING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2018
Applications for New Zealand Short-Term Training Scholarships are now open.
The New Zealand High Commission warmly invites you to apply for a Short-Term Training Scholarship for 2018. Up to 21 scholarships are available for Tongan citizens to undertake training or a workplace attachment for up to 12 months in New Zealand in 2018.
The New Zealand Short-Term Training Scholarships provide opportunities for employed individuals to gain knowledge and skills that will contribute to the social and economic development of Tonga, as well as to their personal career aspirations.
Applicants must have the support of their employer to apply.
The Short-Term Training Award covers training fees, return economy air fares, an establishement grant, a basic living allowance, and provision for health care.
Applicants for New Zealand Short-Term Training Scholarships must be currently employed in the proposed area of training. The priority areas for training in 2018 are:
- Private sector development (incl. tourism, manufacturing, transport, trades)
- Public sector management
- Environmental management (incl. climate change and disaster risk management)
- Information, Communication and Technology
- Agriculture and fisheries.
Training for other sectors will be considered as a secondary priority.
All applications must be submitted to the New Zealand High Commission by midday Friday 13 October 2017.
