Tonga sends athletics team to Palau 2005 Mini Games [1]

A 12-members athletic team will represent Tonga at the 2005 South Pacific Mini Games to be held in Palau from July 25 to August 4.
The Tongan team of seven men and five women will compete in track events, long, high and triple jump, shot put and discus, weightlifting and beach volleyball.
In the women's events, Latai Sikuea, 24, a gold medallist at the 2000 Polynesian Championship will run in the 100m and 200m events.
The 2000 Pacific School Games silver medallist ‘Aleki Sapoi (24) will compete in the 110m and 400m.
In the triple jump, high jump and long jump event Melesia Mafile‘o (20) a 2000 Oceania Championships silver medallist competes together with Kumimo...ui ...Uhila (20) a Gold Medallist at the 2002 Under-18 Oceania Championships.
In shot put and discuss ‘Ana Po‘uhila (26) a Gold Medallist at the 2000 Oceania Grand Prix will join Melesia Uhi (26) a Silver Medallist at the 1999 South Pacific Games and Salesi ...Ahokovi a Gold Medallist at the 2003 Polynesian School Championship, in the event.
In weightlifting Maamaloa Lolohea (37) the current number six seat in the Commonwealth will compete in the 105+ category with Kelepulu Makahili, a bronze medallist at the 2003 Oceania, South Pacific and Commonwealth Championships, competing in the 77kg.
The only woman in this event Kefilini Tu‘alau (21) who was a bronze medallist at the 2004 Oceania and South Pacific Championships, competing in the 75+kg division.
In Beach Volleyball Ti‘o Fonohema (32) an Oceania Championship silver medallist and Samuela Fotu (24) will be competing in the event.
The athletics team leavers on July 21 and will return to Tonga on August 5.
