Fire guts Fungamisi property [1]

Fire gutted a three level building at Fungamisi, Neiafu, on Saturday evening.
Lisa Molloy reported from Vava‘u that on Saturday at 5.20 pm the former Dancing Rooster resturant caught fire.
“The fire burnt for over two hours with Vava'u fire and resuce working to contain the spread of the fire. The building had been saved from fire approximately four years before with the fire at the guest house next door,” she said.
The property was believed to be unoccupied after a previous resturant Ciao, on the lower floor, closed in 2012.
It is understood that the property belongs to O. G. Sanft Ltd.
The cause of the blaze is unknown at this stage. The Neiafu Fire Station said they had forwarded a report to Nuku‘alofa, and were unable to comment.
