Over 400 graduates from three Government Post-Secondary Education Institutes received their diplomas and certificates from Prince Tu’ipelehake in Nuku‘alofa on December 10.
The 17th Combined Award Ceremony for the Tonga Institute of Science and Technology, the Tonga Institute of Education and Tonga Institute of Higher Education was held at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.
Tonga's Institute of Higher Education (TIHE) produced the most graduates with 202 certificates and diplomas awarded in Information Technology, Accounting, Media and Journalism, International Business, Tourism Management and Certificates in Massage Therapy and Agricultural Science.
Two students Crystal ‘Ake and Zakia Razak were awarded Bachelors of International Business.
Tonga's Institute of Education (TIOE) awarded 108 Diplomas in Education for the Primary and Secondary levels with Initial Certificates in Teaching and Graduate Certificates of Teaching to its graduates.
TIST
The Tonga Institute of Science and Technology (TIST) had just over 90 students receving their Trade Certificates in electrical engineering, automatic mechanics, general engineering, carpentry, panel beating and spray painting.
The annual event marks the end of the school year for Post-Secondary Education in Tonga, with a large pool of students to seek employment in the new year.
