Australian tourist drowns at Liku'alofa Beach [1]

A 62-year-old woman, an Australian national is reported to have drowned at Liku’alofa Beach on western Tongatapu on Tuesday December 3.

The Tonga Police today said that the Nukunuku police station received a report of the incident around 12:27pm on Tuesday. No further details were released as an inquiry is continuing.

The woman was reported to have been visiting Tonga with her partner as tourists. Liku'alofa is located on a sandy coast in the Western district of Tongatapu, in an area that is popular with holidaymakers.
