Princes award prizes for Tonga High School and Tonga College [1]

Top students of Tonga High School and Tonga College received their awards from Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala and Prince Tungi, at the annual prize giving ceremonies marking the end the school year for government secondary schools this week.

Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala awarded the prizes for Tonga High School Dux, Malia Sosefo Laumanukilupe Mafi (18) today, November 5 at Queen Salote Memorial Hall. A Form 7 student, her prizes included top student for accounting and economics, first in her class, and a special prize of NZD$1,000 from the Tonga High School Ex-Students Papaioea Chapter Palmerston North Annual award, in remembrance of 1970 ex-student Dux Lesieli Ti’o.
Paionia Fatuimoana Langilangi was awarded the Proxime Accessit.

The first two recipients of a prestigious King Tupou VI prize of $2,000 pa’anga each, were Toatepi Lavemai (Form 6) the Best Student in a Foreign Language, and Vanesa ‘Etika (Form 7) the Best Student in Science.

The Dux for Tonga College 2013 was Shalom Edward Henry Jonathan Leonaitasi Lopeti (Form 7). His awards included first in his class and top student in chemistry and biology and best senior band student.
Prince Tungi awarded the prizes at Tonga College’s prize giving ceremony on November 4, at the ‘Atele Indoor Stadium.
