A charity boxing event between Northern and Southern hemisphere rugby players and other athletes in Dubai, UAE, ended on May 24 with the Southern Hemisphere coming out on top with six victories out of ten bouts.
Rugby players included Tonga's ‘Epeli Taione, who was the first to enter the ring against former Rugby League star Lee Radford. ‘Epeli lost by decision.
Manu Samoa’s Brian Lima produced the only knockout of the night against former Irish hooker Shane Byrne. Welsh legend Shane Williams defeated former Springbok scrumhalf Bolla Conradie, while his fellow countryman and former Springbok Conrad Jantjes defeated English Rugby League star Sean Long.
The main fight of the night was won by Carlos Spencer when he defeated former English Cricketer turned MMA fighter Adam Hollioake.
The event was organised to help raise funds for Richard Holland, a South African triathlon athlete who was severely injured in a car accident last year.
