Tonga’s Sevens rugby team is ready for the last leg of the World Sevens Series in London, where they will play in an eight-team qualifier alongside the main competition.

The two-day London Sevens Tournament will kick-off this Saturday 11 May at Twickenham Stadium.

However, Tonga will not be participating in the main competition of the twelve top teams because it does not have “core team status”.

Instead, Tonga will play in the eight-team qualifier where it will compete against nations Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Hong Kong, Zimbabwe and Georgia for a “core team status” in the next 2013-2014 World Series.
