Tonga A winless in first leg of the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup 2013 [1]

Tonga A has failed to make a win so far in the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup for 2013.
The competition features Tonga A, Fiji Warriors, Samoa A and Junior Japan, who each have fixtures against three Australian development teams in Australia in the first leg of the competition, and three New Zealand development teams in New Zealand in the second leg of the competition.
Tonga A completed its Australian tour on Tuesday March 12 with unattractive results, after being defeated 24 – 3 by the Reds College XV in Brisbane, 62 – 12 to ACT XV in Canberra, and 32 – 18 to the Sydney Academy in Sydney.
There were similarly heavy defeats for Samoa A in their fixtures although they managed to beat the Sydney Academy 33 – 24.
The Fiji Warriors have performed well, winning both their fixtures, defeating the Brisbane academy 24 -17 and the Rebel Rising 27 – 22, although a fixture with the Waratahs A team was cancelled.
Junior Japan has only just played its first fixture with a thrashing from the Brisbane academy 76 – 26.
The Pacific Island teams will now travel to New Zealand for the second leg of the competition where they will take on New Zealand Development squads. Tonga A has its first fixture against the Hurricanes Development XV in Wellington.
