Desks for everyone at Mata'aho Kindergarten, Tongatapu. 25 February 2013.

Tongatapu's Mata'aho Kindergarten received a gift of 48 desks and chairs on Monday, February 25 in Nuku'alofa.

Maria Tu'itavake, Manager of Ezi World Cargo in Nuku'alofa, presented the furniture to principal 'Olivina 'Asaeli at the kindergarten's new classroom block,  located beside Nuku'alofa Tonga Side School.

She said their donation was to say thank all those who supported the company growth over the years, "and the best way to say thanks to the community is to help their children in their education by donating not only chairs and desks but also computers," she said.

The gifts shipped from New Zealand, cost a total of NZD$1,920l. The company owned by Moses Uele has previously donated 20 desks and chairs to Ha'akio village kindergarten in Vava'u.

'Olivina who has been teaching at the kindergarten for 40-years said, they were grateful for the donation, especially since they just moved into the new three room classroom block this week. The classroom was constructed with assistance from Japan.

"We asked the company for assistance and they responded quickly and delivered the chairs and desks. We teach around 30 pupils who are age three to five-years-old," she said.
