Lady Robyn Tu'ivakano, new TASANOC President [1]

Lady Robyn Tu'ivakano was elected as the new President of the Tonga Sports Association and National Olympic Committee (TASANOC) at the 2012 General Assembly Election, held at the TASANOC office, Haveluloto on January 31. She takes over the presidency from Lord Tupou.
The General Assembly Election saw and overhaul of the TASANOC Executive Committee. Robyn took over the presidency from Lord Tupou, and a number of new members were elected into the TASANOC Executive Committee.

Vice Presidents (six) - Michael Bloomfield, Hans Jensen, 'Epeli Taione, Dr 'Amanaki Fakakovikaetau, 'Ahongalu Fusimalohi and Robert Sullivan.
Members also included a Representative of the Athletes Commission Siosifa Taumoepeau. The representatives for Sports and Women in Sports Commission is to be confirmed, while Hasiloni Fungavai takes up as treasurer and Tiofilusi Tiueti as Auditor.
AGM
The 2012 Annual General Meeting of TASANOC, which was scheduled to coincide with the election of Executive Committee members in November 2012, was postponed to 17 January 2013, and then again to 31 January, due to a lack of attendance at the AGM, and to enable members and TASANOC executive to complete constitutional requirements before an AGM sothe election of executive members could be held.
The election of TASANOC Executive members is held every four years. The next election will be in 2017, two years before Tonga host the South Pacific Games in 2019.
