Tonga Rugby Union appoints woman CEO [1]

'Emeline Tuita has been appointed as the new CEO of the Tonga Rugby Union for one year, 'Epeli Taione the TRU chairman announced today.
He said the TRU board approved 'Emeline's appointment two days ago after she was shortlisted with two others during a board meeting on Friday January 11.
"TRU is delighted to have its first woman CEO and to show that women play a major part in a male-dominated sport and the board wish her well," he said.
He said seven applied for the position and three shortlisted were Fuka Kitekei'aho, Peni Fukofuka and 'Emeline Tuita.
The CEO's appointment is for a one year, and open for review based on performance, said 'Epeli.
'Emeline was a former Tonga Ambassador to the People's Republic of China.
A woman has previously served on the board with ' Aloma Johansson the first woman director of the then Tonga Rugby Union Authority in 2010.
