'Ahome'e and Lasike chosen to enter House [1]

The Nobles 'Ahome'e, and Lasike have been chosen today as the new Nobles Representatives to replace the nobles who were recently appointed as Ministers.
The 19 nobles of Tongatapu voted among themselves in today's Nobles by-election to decide who would take the seats.
The registrar of electors, Pita Vuki, said Lasike received 11 votes for the 'Eua seat, and 'Ahome'e received 5 votes for the Tongatapu seat.
Fourteen nobles were present in Nuku'alofa and five faxed in their votes to decide the replacements for the Nobles Tu'ivakano and Nuku who were appointed as members of cabinet under a new ruling this year.
The people of Tongatapu and the Niuas will go to the polls on May 5 in a by-election to replace Dr Feleti Sevele and Peauafi Haukinima who were appointed ministers following the March General Election.
