Rev Dr 'Ahio re-elected as FWC President [1]

Rev Dr 'Ahio was re-elected on June 27, as the President of the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga during the 89th Free Wesleyan Church Annual Conference at the Centennial Church, Saione.
Over 300 members of the FWC Conference re-elected Rev Dr 'Ahio with 339 votes over Rev Dr Tevita Havea with 23 votes. Rev Dr ‘Ahio was elected for the first time as President in 2009.
Rev Dr Tevita Havea was re-elected as FWC General Secretary with 329 votes, for his fourth term as the FWC General Secretary.
The conference will be officially opened on June 28, by HM King Tupou VI and ends on Tuesday, July 3.
Rev Dr Tevita Havea told Matangi Tonga, this year's conference brings to Nuku'alofa around 1800 church members from New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, United States, Japan, Fiji, Samoa and Tongatapu's outer islands.
