Three Ministers resign from Cabinet [1]

Three People's Representatives who were appointed as Cabinet Ministers in the Government of the Prime Minister, Lord Tu'ivakano have resigned from Cabinet, the Acting Secretary for Cabinet Alfred Soakai announced late last night, June 25.

Alfred said that the Minister for Health, 'Uliti Uata, the Minister for Labour, Commerce and Industries, 'Isileli Pulu, and the Minister for Police, Prisons and Fire Services, Sunia Fili, had met the Prime Minister, Lord Tu'ivakano yesterday afternoon and handed over their resignations.

The three will return to their seats in the House as People's Representatives, and the Prime Minister has yet to announce new Cabinet Ministers.

Meanwhile, a motion for a Vote of No Confidence in the Prime Minister that was filed with the Speaker of Parliament on Monday, June 18 has yet to be tabled into the House.
