The former head of Tonga's Football Federation 'Ahongalu Fusimalohi has lost his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport CAS, against a decision by the FIFA Appeal Committee, banning him for two years from taking part in any football-related activity and a fine of $7500 Swiss Francs.

'Ahongalu's appeal to CAS was his second attempt to over turn a decision that was imposed by the FIFA Ethic Committee in November 2010.

'Ahongalu and five other football officials were ban by the FIFA  Ethic Committee in November 2010 from taking part in any football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other) for periods of between one and four years after they were found to have breached various articles of the FIFA  Code of Ethics and for corrupt behavior during bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

'Ahongalu appealed to the FIFA  Appeal Committee and their decision on Nov 2011 was for 'Ahongalu to be banned from taking part in any football-related activity for two years (instead of three years) and a fine of $7,500 Swiss Francs (instead of $10,000 Swiss Francs).

The other five FIFA officials who were banned by the FIFA Ethic Committee from taking part in any football-related activity were two FIFA Executive Committee members, Amos Adamu and Reynald Temarii, and three other officials - Slim Aloulou, Amadou Diakite, and Ismael Bhamjee.
