Tonga A ended the Australian series winless, with two losses and its final match cancelled due to bad weather, during the first leg of the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup Tournament 2012.

Tonga A was defeated by the Junior Waratahs 11-27, in its first match on February 26 in Sydney. It then lost again to Queensland A 8-23, on March 1 in Brisbane.

Tonga Rugby Union Office in Nuku'alofa said that Tonga A was to play its final and third match against the Brumby Runners on March 4 at Griffith Oval in Canberra, but the game was cancelled because the venue was closed due to heavy rain.

The match was declared a draw earning two points each for the two teams.

Tonga A had also lost a warm up game before against the Waratahs 0-52 on February 17 in Sydney.

New Zealand

Head Coach 'Isitolo Maka and team go to New Zealand this week to play three matches in the second leg of the tournament.

Tonga A will first meet the Blues Development team at the Pakarunga Rugby Club in Auckland on March 9.

On March 15, Tonga will meet the Crusader Knights in Christchurch before the final game against the Highlanders Development at Longan Park in Dunedin, on March 19. 

The last leg of the PRC tournament will be played in October when Tonga A meets Samoa A and the Fiji Warriors to determine the championship of the Pacific Rugby Cup 2012.

Samoa A

Samoa A have won both of its first two matches, while Fiji  secured one win, in the Australian series.

Samoa A defeated the Brumby Runners 30-24 on February 24, and smashed the Junior Waratahs 25-5 on March 1.

The Fiji Warriors was defeated by Queensland A 24-36 in its first game, but the warriors came back to win its second game against the Brumby Runners 16-3 on February 29.

Samoa and Fiji have their final games on March 5, with Samoa A facing Queensland A and Fiji Warriors against the Junior Waratahs, before they fly to New Zealand for the second round.
