FIT ends 2010 with a Pangaimotu swim [1]

THE Friendly Islands Triathlon (FIT) club concluded 2010 with a Pangaimotu Island "Fear No Sharks" swim event.

The two categories event included a 3 km swim from Pangaimotu Island to Fangaloto and return; and a 1.5 km swim from Fangaloto to Pangaimotu Island, on Saturday afternoon, December 18.

Thirteen men competed in the 3 km dash; while there were four female and four men competing in the 1.5k swim.

Ashley Perkins completed the 3 km dash in 46m 57s; in second place was 'Alo Fe'iloakitau, 55m 40s; and in third place was John O'Malley, 56m 42s.

In the 1.5 km dash, the male category was won by Kevin Lam in 23m 14s; and the female category was won by Tonia Calabria in 29m 21s.
