Vava'u leads the way in soccer [1]

THE vision of the Tonga Football Association for soccer to be Tonga's Number One sport by 2020, will be more achievable in Vava'u than in Tongatapu, said Lui 'Aho, the new General Secretary of the Tonga Football Association TFA after spending two days in Vava'u, 15-16 February.
"I believe Tonga Football Associations' vision is more achievable in Vava'u then in Tongatapu and we won't spare any resources and assistance to ensure vava'u achieves our goal of making Fotball Tonga's number one sport in 2020," said Lui.
It was Lui's first visit to Vava'u since he became the General Secretary of the TFA on 1 January 2011. The main purpose of his visit, according to a statement from TFA was "to see first hand the achievement to date in terms of football developments here as Tonga Football Association strives to achieve its vision of making football Tonga's number one sport in 2020, . . ."
Lui said that Later this year Tonga will send a women's and men's national teams to the Pacific Games in New Caledonia later this year. The selection and trial process for Vava'u will be conducted in June.
