Hon. Moimoikimofuta Vaea (49), who died suddenly on May 5 was laid to rest at the Kolomanatau Cemetery at Houma this morning, Thursday May 12.

Moimoi was a son of the late Baron Vaea and Baroness Tuputupu of Houma. A prayer vigil was held at his residence, Matangiake, on May 11.

Moimoi's funeral procession arrived at Houma.

The funeral service was held at the Free Wesleyan Church at Makapaeo village before a 2km funeral procession led by the Tonga Police Band, went to Kolomanatau Cemetery at Houma were children lined the sides of the road

The funeral was attended by Baroness Tuputupu, and the deceased's elder sisters HRH Princess Nanasipau'u Tuku'aho, Hon Luseane Luani and Hon Luolua Lasike and families.

Members of the Royal Family attending included HSH Prince Tu'ipelehake, Princess Siu'ilikutapu Kalaniuvalu-Fotofili and Princess 'Ofeina Fakafanua.

Also present was the Prime Minister Lord Tu'ivakano, Lord Fielakepa, Lord Ma'afu, Cabinet Ministers and many family and friends.

Hon Moimoi was the Vice President of the Tonga Football Association (TFA). He was a bachelor.
