Editor,
CONGRATULATION to Cadet Vaha'i Latu of the West Point Class of 2011.
For You Information.
By no mean, to take away anything from Vaha'i's accomplishment.
Before, Vaha'i, there were other Tongans graduates from West Point; there was a David Rotorua Lousiale Kava, Class of 2009, now training with the Army Special Forces; before David, there were the brothers Taumoepaea, who are probably still serving somewhere in the world in the US Army. There may have been others.
Currently at West Point, there is a Robert Kamea Lousiale Kava, a senior graduating next year 2012.
My apology if you are referring only to Tongan West Point Cadets recruited from Tonga or cadets whose parents are both Tongans. I believe that both of the Taumoepeaus parents are Tongan. The Kavas father is Tongan but their mother is from American Samoa.

Editor's note - The Taumoepeau brothers, Semisi and Duko graduated in 1999, and a girl Halaevalu Helu graduated in 2002.
