Prince 'Ulukalala (26), second in line to the Tongan throne, and Hon Sinaitakala Tu'imatamoana Fakafanua (24) will celebrate their engagement in Sydney in January.

A program of the May Royal Wedding, was released today by a family member, Tupou 'Ahome'e Tuita Faupula

The couple's registering (ma'utohi) will be held on May 1 at the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga at Ma'ufanga. This will be followed by the fakalelea, or the celebration of the marriage by the families, at Siumafua'uta at Ma'ufanga in the afternoon.

The Royal Wedding to be held on Friday 4 May 2012 at the Centennial Church, Saione, Nuku'alofa, will be followed by a wedding feast at Mala'e Pangai in the afternoon.

The couple's first Sunday will be held on May 6 at the Centennial Church, followed by a luncheon at Pangai in the afternoon.

Courtship

The couple both great-grandchildren of the late Queen Salote, have the blessing of both of their families in a Faitohi ceremony on July 28 at Ma'ufanga.

The Faitohi ceremony is a traditional Tongan courting ritual, in which Prince 'Ulukalala officially asked for Hon. Sinaitakala's hand in marriage at her residence Siatapu at Ma'ufanga.

Prince 'Ulukalala is the eldest son of Crown Prince Tupouto'a Lavaka and Princess Nanasipau'u Tuku'aho.

Hon. Sinaitakala is the only daughter of Princess 'Ofeina Fakafanua and the late Fakafanua (Tutoatasi).
