Tu'i Uata charged with bribery [1]

Tu'i Uata of Uata Shipping Company, has been charged with bribery, the Tonga Police confirmed today.
He is the son of Uata Shipping Company owner and Ha'apai People's Representative 'Uliti Uata.
Assistant Police Commander 'Unga Fa'aoa confirmed that Tu'i was arrested by police on Monday, March 1. He appeared at the Magistrate's Court yesterday March 2 and was released on bail set at $1,000 pa'anga with $800 pa'anga each for the two sureties.
Fa'aoa verified that the bribery charge is in relation to the attempted bribery of Commander Lupeti Vi.
