Tonga sending 77 athletes to SP Mini-Games [1]

Tonga will send 77 athletes to compete at the 8th South Pacific Islands Mini Games in the Cook Islands, expected to attract over 1000 athletes from the region, September 21 to October 2.
Hiko Fungavaka of the Tonga Amateur Sports Association (TASA) said on Thursday that the 77 athletes will compete in nine sports: athletics, boxing, tennis, table tennis, rugby league, rugby union, triathlon, weightlifting and netball. Six of the 77 athletes are Tongans from New Zealand and Australia.
Taking the team are the Chief de Mission 'Amanaki Fakakovikaetau, assisted by Semisi Fonua, with administrator, Hiko Fungavaka, the physio, Christie Latu and the team doctor, Alamea Fulivai.
The Tongan team will leave for Rarotonga in three groups, departing Tonga on September 17, 24 and 28.
