Destructive invaders alert for Nuku'alofa [1]

Editor,
Thank you for all the hard work and also keeping us connected with the Kingdom through your reports.
After reading your piece on the beautiful new ANZ Bank building opened in central Nuku'alofa, I did not notice the parking area designated for the bank customers. I am confident that there is ample parking there for the customers as every designer would design when they develop a project.
However, I would suggest to the Nuku'alofa rebuilding committee that every new building should designate the ground level for parking. Building parking structures will alleviate roadside parking. Prohibit parking along the main roads in Nuku'alofa between 7:00am - 7:00pm. The roadways are so jammed which becomes a traffic, fire, tsunami hazard. It also hinders the visibility between vehicle operators and pedestrians.
It might be a good idea to start raising roads, and building floor elevations to keep up with the sea level continuing to rise. With the main floor being 12 feet to 15 feet above the sea level, we might be able to save some lives and properties when the town is invaded by tidal waves and heavy rainstorms.
