Tonga'’s 'Ikale Tahi rugby team returned home from Australia with the Wooden Spoon for Pool D in the Rugby World Cup, after losing all of its four pool games against Italy, Wales, the All Blacks and Canada.

The 'Ikale Tahi's best game was against Wales on October 19 in Canberra, when they scored three tries to Wale. But Tonga's kicking for goal was not its best that day and at full time they were down 20-27.

A few individual talents shone through from the Tongan world cup team. Pierre Hola stood out as the solo try scorer for Tonga against the All Blacks. Sukanaivalu also made a number of memorable bursts against Wales and Canada. The Captain Benhur Kivalu was tireless, and Viliami Vaki led the attack whenever he had the ball.
