Outrageous glamour in Miss Galaxy Queen 2008 contest [1]

Tonga's Galaxy Queen Pageant 2008 began in Nuku'alofa, the capital of Tonga, on Wednesday August 6 and lived up to its outrageous reputation attracting a full house to the Queen Salote Memorial Hall.
HRH Princess Pilolevu Tuita was the guest of honour at the annual cross-dressing glamour pageant, a popular event for local spectators.
The night kicked off with the introduction of the nine contestants, who were fantastically dressed and judged in three categories of Cocktail Wear, Recycled Wear and the Coconut Creation.
Balancing on super high heels, Galaxy Queen contestants Cruella Deville, Abby Marie and Amyland modeled fantastic gowns made out of plastic wrappers, fine woven coconut wear.
On Thursday August 7 the contestants will be judged on another two categories, the Talent competition and International Wear. On Friday August 8, the final night, the contestants will be judged on the Evening Ball Gown and Galaxy Wear before the new Miss Galaxy Queen for 2008-09 is announced.
The reigning Miss Galaxy Queen 2007-08 is Miss Rasa Myer Douglas Tanya of New Zealand who made a special appearance. Also in attendance was a former Galaxy Queen Miss Coco Chandelier from the United States and Miss Felicia Brown.
