HRH Princess Latufuipeka Tuku’aho handed out popsicles for students of Tonga’s secondary schools and the supporters.
The princess also presented medical equipment gifts for all the schools of Tonga to use during sports so they do not heavily rely solely on the Red Cross.
A student suffering from heat exhaustion was stretchered off the field during the events.
The much anticipated speed track events of the day were all thriling, with the 200m sprint, 300m and 400m hurdles for boys and girls highlights.
Liahona High School dominated the Open boys 200m sprint event and the senior boys 400m boys event.
‘Atele’s runner Mounga Leao has placed first in all of his events including his win in the 400m hurdles today.
The overall medal tally for each school and the end results of the competition will be announced on, the last day of the sports competition on Friday.
