Lord Fakafanua names new Cabinet [1]

Tonga's Prime Minister, Lord Fakafanua has announced an 11 member Cabinet this afternoon, 5 January 2026, after the appointments were made by King Tupou VI, under Clause 51(2) of the Constitution, effective from 31 December, 2025.
It has taken three weeks for a new Cabinet to be announced after Lord Fakafanua was chosen by Members of Parliament to be the country's Prime Minister Designate [2] on 15 December.
The Prime Minister's Office released a statement with the names, early this afternoon.
