Passing Parade for HMAF 76th Basic Recruit Intake at Taliai Camp [1]

HMAF’s 76th Basic Recruit Intake held its Passing Parade Ceremony at Taliai Camp in Fua’amotu today, 12 December, with awards for top performers.

Alfonso Manoa ‘i Loto Iraq Fahamokioa was named the Best Recruit overall and Top in Field Training. His family comes from Talau and Halauful’i, Vava’u; and Havelu, Tongatapu,

 MAJ ‘Alifeleti Sofele presented the award.

Other awards went to: Lavinia Vahenga Folau (Indoor Lessons); Florence Nightingale Hakalo (Best in Drills); Lucas Fangatua (Best in Physical Training); Venilaite ‘Opeti Halakinikini Havea (Best in Marksmanship); and Telesia Pale La’aa Vola (Most Progressive Recruit).

A total of 33 recruits joined the intake in September 2025 but only 25 (8 females and 17 males) graduated from their training today.

Families and friends gathered at the camp to support the recruits on their big day.
