A USD$10 million grant to support Tonga Government revenue management was received through the Ministry of Finance, from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Hon. Dr ‘Aisake Eke received the grant from Director of ADB in the Pacific, Emma Veve, in Nuku’alofa, on 19 November.

Hon. Dr Eke said, “This support from ADB helps us build stronger financial systems and ensure that resources reach the families who need them most.”

The Ministry of Finance stated that the donation will assist improvements in transparency, strengthen debt management, reduce revenue leakages, and enhance access to social support.

The grant builds on Tonga’s earlier reforms under the Improving Economic Management Program and aligns with the Government’s ongoing efforts to promote resilience, inclusion, and sustainable development.
